My son LOVES to color. With crayons. With markers. With highlighters. With dry erase markers. With at least 10 different kinds of paint. He just can’t get enough!
I believe learning can be integrated into any activity that kids love. So why not color the ABCs and start learning how to read while drawing?
This giant printable coloring book includes 104 adorable coloring sheets. The ABCs and their corresponding words are all in bubble letters so kids can think about the letters and words while they fill them in.
There are 4 sheets for each letter of the alphabet, so your kiddo will be exposed to a variety of words for every letter.
The letter ‘x’ pages focus on end sounds rather than beginning sounds. ‘X’ is a tricky letter to teach. It has such a wide variety of sounds, and the words that begin with ‘x’ have the more uncommon sounds. Xylophone? That’s a /z/ sound. X-ray? An /e/ sound followed by a /ks/ sound. Experts recommend teaching end sounds for the letter ‘x’ because these words have the most common ‘x’ sound and learning less common sounds first can be confusing for a new reader.
Want to save paper and ink?
My son colors so much that I now like to reuse our coloring sheets to save paper and ink. We use these dry erase pockets so he can color the same sheet again and again. He sees me using dry erase markers on our fridge organizer all the time, and he just loves using the “grown up” markers.
